All personal protective equipment against falls from a height (PPE) must be checked and documented at least once a year by an expert in accordance with DGUV 312-906. Every PPE must comply with the relevant regulations for safety and health protection at work.
According to the trade association rules and the DGUV rule 112-198 - Use of personal protective equipment against falls (formerly BGR 198), every company is obliged to have PPE checked at least once a year by an expert to ensure that it is in perfect condition, depending on the conditions of use and the operational conditions .
We train to become experts in testing PPE according to BG rules and DGUV 312-906.
Possible damage to the equipment is shown and explained to the participants in detail. The external or visible defects (e.g. chemical influences, aging, wear and tear, fall indicators) and the internal or non-visible defects are treated and assessed. Damage or defects are explained and assessed in detail on demonstration objects. From this, the participant can then assess recommendations and assessments for further use or discarding of the PPE.
In order to be able to assess the proper condition of personal fall protection equipment, further specific contents are provided in the curriculum, in particular in connection with the use of the equipment.
